čauko, píšem zo Slovenska, ja mám Eee PC od decembra 2007, RAM ku som si upgradoval na 1G, v LINUXe, ak máte XP ide to na 2G, len ju fyzicky vymeníte. Objednával som ju na www.alza.cz a je to 667, funguje už 5 mesiacov bezpečne. Tiež som sa bál o záruku, no niekde, a fakt už neviem kde som našiel oficiálne vyhlásenie Asusu (pre trh USA), že upgrade RAM nie je taký zásah, aby ste sratili záruku. V USA to platí, čo sme horší???

No, jde o to, že Asus vydal prohlášení "záleží na kraji"... Tzn v USA může platit, že když Asus hodíš na zem, vztahuje se na to záruka a Asusczech může říct, že na tohle se záruka nevztahuje... To samé s RAM, v USA na to záruka je, ale tady nikoliv... A my to reklamujeme u Asus czechu, nevím, jak to je u vás, na Slovensku, ale hádám, že stejně

už máš svoj Eee PC? Alebo len tak mudruješ? Výmenou RAM ky nemáš čo pokaziť. Alebo sa chystáš na iné zásahy? Je to vymeniteľná súčiastka, ver mi, ak by ASUS nechcel, aby do toho niekto kafral, dajú to tam na pevno.

Chápem Ťa aj Tvoje obavy, tiež som ich mal. Ak by som si kupoval UMPC za 40 tisíc, tak by som sa asi bál. Ale ide len o 7 litrov.
Linux je stabilný, ak tam dáš 1G RAM, viditeľne zrýchli.

peter, boha jeho, tak si pročti tenhle thread a dozvíš se, že to, co jsem řekl je oficiální ohlášení na stránkách Asusu... Myslím, že to bylo i na mujeee.cz, nejen tady na fóru.

Eee nemám, nevím vůbec, jestli jej budu kupovat, protože se stále rozhoduji mezi konkurenčními stroji. Přesto, není to JEN 7 tisíc, pro mě to bude minimálně 15 (pokud budu kupovat nějaký eee, tak 8G, anebo konkurenci, která také stojí okolo 15) a ani 7 není málo. Docela by mě zajímalo, až ti eee z ničeho nic přestane fungovat a na tech supportu tě pošlou někam, jestli pak budeš říkat "aaale, 7 litrů, no co už..." A jestli si myslíš, že když máš eee, snědl jsi veškerou moudrost, pak tě mohu vyvést z omylu.. Tvůj výrok "už máš eee, nebo jen mudruješ" je nejen směšný, ale i velmi stupidní.

Yes, the 'Warranty Void if Removed' sticker has been addressed in an announcement last week, and removing it will in no way shape or form affect your warranty status. You are welcome to upgrade the onboard memory without any issues. Here is the complete statement addressing the sticker:

ASUS Computer International (“ASUS”) recently received feedback from one of its valued customers with questions concerning the purpose of a seal stating, “Warranty Void If Removed” over the access door to the single SODIMM slot on some models of the ASUS Eee PC. ASUS wishes to assure its customers that merely breaking or removing this kind of seal will not void the ASUS Limited Warranty. Although ASUS recommends that customers use ASUS-approved service facilities and components, ASUS is committed to honoring the terms of its Limited Warranty and making sure that its customers are free to make appropriate hardware and software modifications and upgrades, regardless of whether the service is performed by an approved facility, a non-approved service provider, or by the customers themselves. ASUS will replace the warranty label with a label to warn users that ASUS will not be responsible for the damage caused by improper hardware change.
ASUS is taking steps to make sure that the seals in question are no longer used in its products that are intended to be sold in any country where these stickers are not permitted.

ASUS has also modified its written Limited Warranty policies effective immediately to eliminate any provision stating that the ASUS Limited Warranty will be voided simply because the product is serviced by a non-ASUS-approved service facility, or if non-ASUS-approved components or software are installed or used. Dúfam, že Ti to postačí. Na základe tohto som sa rozhodol môj Eee PC upgradovať na 1G RAM, a nemám pocit, že ma niekto z ASUS ČR len tak odpálkuje.

Čo je dôležitejšie, neviem na aký účel chceš Eee používať? Máš nejaký velký NB? Ak budeš pracovať v Linuxe na Eee a máš popri tom ešte veľký PC alebo NB, tak jediné obmedzenie je malá klávesnica a je fakt, že ak píšeš 10 imi prstami, tak ťa budú po chvíli bolieť. Ale to je u všetkých UMPC podobných Asusu. Ak neponáhľaš s kúpou, počkaj si na Eee 900, ja ju určite kúpim.
Pomer cena a výkon na moju prácu v teréne úplne postačuje.

V žiadnom prípade som Ťa nechcel uraziť.
